Happy Friday, Gators Families!

Thank you for another great week of practice! We are looking forward to our meet at Wood Valley next week! All swimmers should arrive at 5:15pm for warm-ups at 5:30pm. All volunteers should arrive at Wood Valley by 5:30pm. Please make sure you declare or decline your child for the meet before 11:59pm on Saturday. Wood Valley sent us the following information to prepare for the meet:

Wood Valley is looking forward to hosting Granite Falls this coming Tuesday evening, June 9th!

Wood Valley Swim & Racquet Club is located at 10316 Boxelder Drive, 27613.

PARKING: We will reserve the right side of our parking lot for you (basketball court side). You may also park along Boxelder and Bushveld Drives. If you park along the neighborhood streets, please be sure not to obstruct the streets, restricting emergency vehicles like fire trucks and ambulances from freely traveling the roads in emergencies (or your vehicle may be towed). We ask that you consider carpooling if you are able.

POOL DECK:

  • Please bring chairs, as seating may be limited.
  • We ask that Granite Falls walk to the blocks along your side of the pool and by the dive well. (PLEASE SEE ATTACHED MAPS).
  • We ask that parents only congregate by the pool for their swimmers' events and return to seating areas after your swimmers finish.
  • Overflow seating for Granite Falls will be on the basketball court, if needed.
FOOD: We will have hamburgers and hot dogs for sale, as well as chips, drinks, and popsicles until 8:30pm. CREDIT CARDS/DEBIT CARDS ONLY (no cash and no American Express). Sunset Slush will also be on site.

CLOSED AREAS: The playground will be closed during the meet, so please ensure your swimmers and other children stay off of the playground equipment. Swimmers are not allowed the clubhouse after the grill is closed.

REMINDERS:

  • Parents/spectators are not permitted behind the starting blocks, unless the parent is a volunteer.
  • Parents/spectators/volunteers should not take pictures or videos from behind the blocks.
  • Parents/spectators/volunteers should not assist swimmers with getting in or out of the pool during the swim meet.
  • Dive overs: Except for backstroke, swimmers should remain in the water until the next heat dives over them to start. Please remind your swimmers about this. We will have timers reminding them as well.

We are looking forward to a great meet!
